In the fight to win against ARPKD
About This Campaign
Please support our heroes, Jackson and Mackenzie! Both, Jackson and Mackenzie, have Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease (ARPKD). Jackson is 8 years old, has had a kidney transplant, liver cancer, and endless hospital stays/surgeries. Mackenzie is 2 years old – her disease is effecting her liver, causing scary varices in her GI tract that require banding and put her in risk of bleeding. ARPKD effects 1 in 20,000 – and the brother and sister duo both have the disease. Lately, both children have been in and our of the hospital. Jackson recently had a fungal pneumonia which resulted in week long stay at the hospital, including nights in ICU. Mackenzie was seen at Duke to check on her liver; she will need a shunt placed sooner than later to help prevent liver transplant. Please share and help get the word out about ARPKD and these two sweet babes!
